"Let your dreams be bigger than your fears & your actions louder than your words. "
What's your dream? Where do you see yourself in 5 years? 10 years? What makes you happy every morning? Where can you see yourself walking into every morning with a smile?
I am realizing in my own journey to my dreams that I need to ask myself what am I afraid of? Why am I afraid of it? How often do we fear the unknown? I believe that as college students, many of us don't know what is going to happen next.
I love PR and I know that is what I want my entire career to be surrounded around. I know I want to be in an agency... But fear is keeping me from going to where I want to be. Fear is keeping me in my comfort zone. I want to step outside of my comfort zone, I want to be able to follow my dreams away from fear. So I make my dreams bigger. I make it impossible for my fears to outweigh my dreams. I will accomplish them.
You're probably reading like... why do I want my dreams that big? What if I can't do it? There is no CANT. You make them big enough that there's not enough fear in the world to keep you from accomplishing them.
Figure out exactly what you're afraid of when it comes to your dreams. For example, I'm afraid to be too far away from home; too far away from my family, not knowing if I could move to a big city and work alone. I refuse to let that be engrained in me. I will make my dreams even bigger, I will work in a big city doing what I love to the point I won't have time to be alone, to think about being far away.
A lot of people say that your dreams should scare you, but people tend to run from what they fear and that's not what you want. You want them to outweigh they fear. You want the excitement you feel when trying to accomplish your dreams outweigh that fear. You want the passion you have for that dream to soar past every single fear and anguished thought that you have about it. Only then can you even start on the path to accomplishment.
That's how it has to be done. Make your dreams so high that you have no choice but to make them happen. What are your dreams? What is holding you back from reaching them? Let me know in the comment section, and let's figure out a way to accomplish them. -KNikole
